YIP has been at the core of the Youth Justice Board (YJB) prevention strategy since 2000. The approach is simple: define the target area and then identify young people most at risk of anti-social behaviour or offending through a multi-agency referral process. Provide the young people with one-to-one support and targeted small group activities; and most critically stick at it for the long term. With over 12 years of research and evidence base the long term benefits of this approach have been widely published. Motiv8 was involved in the original pilot phase in 2000 and continues to deliver a YIP style approach today.
